CalDay

Yesterday, I was rather sick.  Stiff neck, dizziness, and overheating.  Plus a bad dream involving black blood and Ferret-kun on Thursday.

Today, I went to CalDay, and promptly learned that I need to be more assertive, and to be able to BS answers to questions much better.  I was wondering how to answer "Why Cal?" and this lovely tour guide of ours answered it perfectly.  "I came from San Diego, and I was attracted to Cal because of the amazing blend of academics and atheltics.  Nowhere else was there this incredible academic drive, and the student body is just amazing.  I'm an Environmental Science major, and I really love the campus because there's a Botanical Garden which houses [some large number] of species of trees and plants, and it's great to be able to take walks there.  You know, San Diego doesn't really have any trees, so that might not be important to you, but I really fell in love with the campus as soon as I walked in."

So the format is: [Kiss ass about how UNIQUE Berkeley is, then specific details relating to major and how much you <3 <3 <3 Berkeley.]

What lovely BS!  Hahaha...but I got more assertive later in the day, and I actually asked some questions from the Haas business school lady.  Essentially, I have my schedule planned out for me...  :P And I WILL take Japanese even if it saps my time.

Now, a lot of people have told me that they don't expect more than a 3.0 and that they'd be happy enough with that, but I really want a 4.0.  Some people have told me that it's nigh impossible to get a 4.0, but Leo, the guy who kind of inspired me to go to Berkeley, very simply told me, "Oh, Berkeley?  Good for you!  Get a 4.0 the first two years and you should be fine!  :)"  Ah well...guess I won't really have a life.

We toured the dorms.  The dorms are TINY.  Lovely view and all, but TINYYYY.  On most flats, there are coed floors and coed bathrooms.  Our tour guide said, "Oh, you can look in the bathrooms" and a half naked guy in a towel walks out, doesn't even give us a look, and goes in his room.  XD

:) I am getting into the college mindset already!  For once in about 3 years, I am not procrastinating on homework.  It's an incredible feeling....
