Yesterday's forum on homelessness was both more and less than I'd hoped for. Daniel was extremely well-spoken at first, but devolved into single-mindedness. There was no opportunity for people other than the experts to speak, but they did each know something, a couple of them quite a lot. I got contact info for several, as well as several city council members. I'm going to take a break 'til Monday and then start calling in earnest. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that all of the work I did in preparation for the meeting was for naught (nearly--I did get some serious backing from the permaculture/regeneration community) and that I only got myself ten times more work by going and networking.
Plus I'm taking on some serious responsibility at the UU community garden.
Plus I'm resurrecting the Ashland critical mass ride.
On top of the prior commitments with the community garden project and so on and so forth.
Looks like Vancouver's a bust this time around. Maybe again later in the spring?
