I apologized for offending, asked if he took it personally and told him it wasn't meant that way, reasserted the question as one of definition; it was deleted before I had a chance to copy it. Here's my follow-up (his comments to be posted soon):

I not-so-humbly disagree: I believe that the question of capitalism is one of the basic questions of our culture, and thus our permaculture. But--your site, your rules, of course. If you wish to carry on a conversation with yourself, as you do to all appearances, that is your privilege.

By the way, I am not (yet, or perhaps ever) trying to feed the world's hungry through permaculture. We could carry on a lengthy conversation about that alone.

I am a foodie.

I am comfortable with people making a living through growing food, teaching useful skills, and a plethora of other things. I am also comfortable talking about our definitions of words, and how those effect the choices we make. I'm sorry if you are not. I see a need to fundamentally shift our culture in order to feed humanity without using up all of our natural resources, human included. If I'm wrong, I'd be glad to know it, as that'd make the task that much easier.

I'm here to learn and exchange ideas, not to judge, criticize, or silence.
