Hi I'm stoned. I just have a few issues to addres:
Does anybody remember that song "Where my girls at?" Who sings it? remember how it was an obvi ripoff of Brandy and Monica "The Boy is Mine?" They had another song too....5 points to whoever knows both (who sings it and their other song).
-Pink's new song "who knew?" in my stonedness I began ruminating on factors which make a hit, a hit. Some hits like "Like a Virgin" combine earworm hooks with poppy melodies and female empowerment, a novel concept at the time when initially released. Pink's first two cd's were very successful, full of top 10 hits. Why won't this hit get there? Though critics love this song, probably because it has the formula of and strongly resembles well-crafted adult top 40, I think it will fall short of becoming a hit because while pleasant-sounding and interesting, it doesn't combine a persona, at least that which Pink has created for herself, with the lyrics. It has a powerful vocalist beautifully singing the lyrics...but that's like having Natalie Dessay sing La Traviatta. She can't "imbue" the song with her own personality...which I think is what studio execs should focus on. remember "oops I did it again?" I think that succeeded so wildly due in part to Britney Spears' persona at the time, the cultural zeitgeist, and lyrical content all lining up in a row.

oh on my way home from the bar, I picked up Will who was walking and dropped him off at his apartment. We kind of ... had a moment, and now I'm really confused, as I'm dating Ben. and have been dating Ben for a month.
