"This is ridiculous!" Hermione jiggled the cupboard doorknob again before pulling out her wand and trying Alohamora. When the door remained stubbornly closed, she pounded on it with her fists. "Let us out!"
From the party outside, her friends' catcalls and whistles made her blood boil.
"You may as well calm down," Draco drawled from the darkness behind her. "They couldn't let us out if they wanted to. This is 'Seven Minutes in Heaven,' after all. We're in here for seven minutes."
"Fine." Hermione turned and tried to squeeze over to one side, but avoiding Draco completely was impossible in the small space. "Whatever. That's seven minutes I can spend planning my revenge. Just be quiet and don't distract me."
She could hear him exhale slowly. "I don't know how Muggles play this game, but this is a Wizards kissing game. The seven minutes won't start until we kiss."
"What?!"
She could hear Parkinson's sing-song taunt through the door: "Granger just learned the rules!" The roomful of drunken idiots broke into loud laughter, and Hermione was glad it was too dark for her red face to be visible.
"I won't do it," she hissed.
"Oh, dear." His tone was all nonchalance. "Then we'll stay in here forever or, rather, until we starve to death. If only I'd known you felt this way, I would've snagged another plate of canapés on my way in here."
Frustrated, Hermione demanded, "If you knew we'd have to kiss, why did you allow yourself to be tossed in here with me?"
He was quiet for a moment. "It's just a stupid party game, not the end of the world. So we kiss, so what? We're adults. What's seven minutes to us?"

Draco abruptly let her go.
"You realize I can't find your mouth if you keep bobbing and weaving like that."
"You say that like it's a bad thing," she muttered.
Draco's first attempt at a kiss had resulted in a mouthful of bushy hair when Hermione turned her head at the last moment. His second attempt, while cupping her face between his hands, landed on her chin when she took the only escape route open to her and tipped her face back.
"Do you want to get out of here or not? Because I'm not going to chase you around the cupboard, Hermione." She thought she must be imagining the touch of hurt in his voice.
"Yes, I want to get out of here! I'm just nervous. You and I have barely shared a civil word since we were eleven, and now--"
Anything else she would have said was muffled by his mouth.

Draco twined his tongue with hers and stroked over the ridges of her teeth. She shuddered and panted against his mouth.
Who could have guessed, she thought dazedly, that a tongue usually dripping venom and scorn could do such wonderful things?
00:03:31
"Maybe-" she gasped when he found a particularly sensitive spot under her ear, "maybe we should stop…" Her words trailed off into a low moan when he gently bit that same spot.
"You don't know how long I've wanted this." The vibration of his voice against her throat had her arching up against him, and he made a rough noise deep in his chest in reaction.

Hermione slipped her hands under his shirt, enjoying the way his breath caught as she skimmed her hands lightly over his chest.
"One good turn deserves another, I think," he whispered, and she nibbled on his earlobe in assent when he caressed her back and inched the zipper of her dress down.
00:06:24
"I'm afraid," he said between kisses, his hands pulling her dress back up over her shoulders, "we're running out of time."
"Nooo, we can't be."
"It's been at least six minutes." Draco pulled away from her mouth, resting his forehead against hers and playing with the ends of her hair.
"I don't care."
"The door will unlock-"
Hermione cut him off with a kiss. "Not if we spell it shut." Hermione hugged him and let her head rest over his heart. "You said you've been wanting this, right? You've wanted to be with me."
"Yeah."
"Well, I'm saying I don't want this to end."
