Hello, kindly Yule-Friend! I'm writing this Dear Yuletide Author letter in the hopes of telling you a little bit about my fandoms and why I've picked them.
First, let me say that I don't need giant plotty fics - small, contained, and insightful ones are more to my taste. I love delving into characterization - how small things can really tell you something about who a person is. I also like sweet sexiness, but I'm not averse to wallbanging sex if you feel like writing it. I tend to be a femslasher or a het type of person - slash doesn't do much for me. I don't really like soul-crushing angst, either, although a little wisp of it usually adds a nice flavor to the stew. I'm not down with major character death, animal harm, or any of the more extreme fetishes. I'm perfectly ok with people being tied up for fun sexytimes, though. I don't mind AUs at all, for what it's worth.
As for my requests, here are some of the things I'm pondering with them,
1. Tam Lin: I really liked the interaction of the regular world with Faerie, and how some of the characters were caught between. I've actually requested a story about how Robin and Molly cope, afterwards, and if you feel like writing that for me, I'd be delighted. Otherwise, I'd love a crossover with Labrynth, mostly for seeing how Sarah and Janet (perhaps an older Sarah, at college? Would Janet come back and teach at Blackstock or not?) interacting.
2. Kage Baker's Children of the Company. I love the entire series, but In The Garden of Iden is a book of my heart - something that just pushed every button I have. The relationship between Mendoza and Nicholas is sweet, sexy, funny, challenging, heartbreaking...I'd love to see more of it. (I don't know how I feel about Nicholas in the later books - he and Edward bounce strangely off each other, and I'm not nearly as fond of Alec as I am of Edward and Nicholas.) So a story somehow exploring their relationship would be lovely.
3. The Oracle Glass, by Judith Merkle Riley. A book I love, by an author I adore, and a setting which I think has a ton of fic potential. I leave it in your hands. Tell me whatever story you're inspired to tell.
4. Dark is Rising sequence, Susan Cooper. A series of books I imprinted on, harder even than Narnia. I've always been a bit of a Will/Jane and sometimes Bran/Jane shipper, partly because I like how tough Jane is,in her own quiet way. (although I'm not, by and large, a slasher, Will/Bran actually does make sense to me. But there are tons of Will/Bran stories out there already.) I have no problem with you revoking the "everybody forgets at the end" thing, as well. I'd like a story more focused on Jane - from her point of view, or her at the center of the story. Threesome fic is fine...more than fine, actually.
In conclusion, thank you, Yuletide writer!
