My vote. My president. The first time I have been proud to be American since I was a child. I wish I could go back abroad and show them we are NOT all ugly Americans, we are NOT all selfish tourists, and we do NOT all support agendas of hate and self-betterment at the expense of the rest of the world. We are NOT the greatest nation in the world; we are a collection of people doing our best against what we've been given, like every other nation in the world. The disappointment I feel about being a Californian today is proof of that. But the pride I feel at casting my vote for our 44th president-elect and the FIRST black man in office (how depressing is it that it took us until 2008 to say that?) AND voting against the disgusting lie-filled hate movement that is Prop 8 helps quell that a little, since all signs show that we have until December 2nd for ALL votes regarding Proposition 8 to be counted so don't lose hope yet. We also seem to be enacting some pretty powerful movements to get this turned around.

Prop 8 consists of only 14 words:
"Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid and recognized in California."
Let's interpret this statement with some simple transpositional logic [(P → Q) ↔ (~Q → ~P)]
If only marriage between a man and a woman is valid and recognized in California, then everything else that's not a marriage between a man and woman is invalid and not recognized in California.
-Speed limits? Not recognized.
-Income & Sales Tax? Invalid.
-Your claim of ownership of your property? Not recognized.
-Etc, Etc, Etc.
Logical argument#2:
Wouldn't this law determine that only one marriage out of the millions of married couples be recognized in California? After all, it specifies only A (singular) man and A (singular) woman can have A (singular) marriage that is valid and recognized. Keep in mind the law uses the word "marriage", not "marriages". I wonder who gets dibs on being that one valid married couple?
