NEW JOB

I really want to go take a nap so i'm gonna make this short. Yesterday at work one of the regular customers who had previously inquired into what i was taking in school came in and told me about an internship at his work a building over. It's a canadian company called Century Mining, they own several mines and their corporate offices are located in blaine. He asked if i was interested and that he would pass my name on to the guy in charge of hiring. So after work i stopped by to inquire about it and unfortunately the guy i needed to talk to had already left, but i was shown around by some other people and informed that it wasn't an internship but an actual job.

So i went back today with a resume and had a somewhat informal interview at the end of which i was offered the job. I definitely said yes and ended up staying the rest of the day learning about stuff. During lunch i walked next door and put my two weeks in at subway. It felt so good to say that i was quiting. This new job is going to be great. It's full time 40Hrs per week, at $14 an hour and deals with geology. For now i'm mostly going to be scanning mining maps in to a computer then editing it using photoshop then editing more in this scan2cad program so that eventually they can make a 3D model of the mine using cad.

I can't stop smiling i'm so happy. This is such a great opportunity to gain work experience and learn about some of the analytical non field work aspects of geology. One of the ladies did say that the next time they send people out to the quebec mine that they'd have me go too just to get some field experience in. How cool is that? They have one in peru too and wouldn't that be freaking awesome. well thats been my exciting news and now i'm gonna nap before i go see harry potter tonight which i'm also super stoked about.

Ta Ta for now!
