This Sucks...
Finally have the Doctor Who Network to a reasonably finished state. I uploaded it to CafePress and instantly got this back from them.
Thank you for your earlier voicemail. Unfortunately, we are unable to reinstate your designs. In accordance with our Intellectual Property Rights Policy, we received a notice stating that the use of designs relating to and/or inspired by “Dr Who” infringes upon their intellectual property rights of a third party (copyright/trademark).
WTF, it's a piece of art that uses information gathered from various sources and a design created by myself in a networking program. But it was "inspired by Doctor Who" so they can't accept it. This is how scared people are that the big media companies are going to come and bite their heads off that they won't even consider something that might "vaguely" catch the eye of someone.
And this calls out to the bigger problem of not being able to use anything from the past to remix into something new. Only certain people can dictate what art can be. CafePress is just being a big whussy about this and tossed this in the wastecan without a conversation. For anyone interested the final is under the cut.
So I'm back to square one in trying to get this onto a t-shirt.
