But still the only pirate that left a lasting impression on me is the good old Captain James Hook. Not that Jack Sparrow isn't dear to me.
The old book my mom read to me had wonderful art. In it the best appearance of the Hook. The look of an old dandy with two cigarettes. I ran across that book today and scanned the good ol' captain.
