yeah so I'm the evil journal taking over monkey. Since Ben hasn't been a good little monkey lately and hasn't written anything, I punished him and now I am taking over. Try to solve this problem correctly and I promise Benjamin will give you something good for a prize:
On the day after gradutation, you decide to toss a burning match into the top of a cylindrical waste basket (diameter D, height 2D) full of old homework papers. To make this event more sporting, the bottom of the waste basket is at the same height as the point where the match leaves your hand, and the near side of the waste basket is a horizontal distance 6D form the point where the match leaves your hand. You launch the match at a 45.0 degree angle above the horizontal. Find the min and max values of the launch speed that will make the match enter the top of the waste basket. You can ignore air resistance and give your answers in terms of g and D.
