Summer

It is so ridiculously hot here in the Texas. The temperatures reach around 90s sometimes even 100 degrees. I hate it. I've never been one to enjoy warm weather (I tell Tony all the time, I must have some Eskimo in me). To top it off, being pregnant doesn't help. My body temperature is a lot warmer now, with the increased blood flow and "baking" the baby.

Yesterday, Tony, Maddy, and I were out grocery shopping. We had just finished our shopping at Costco and were all set to leave in our car. But it wouldn't start. Tony tried again and again to start it, and it wouldn't. One of the guys in his car next to us, offered to give us a jump start (thinking the battery had died). Unforunately it didn't help. He said the heat probably drained all the life in the car's battery, so we'd need to replace it.

Normally, I'd start getting upset and frustrated (due to it being hot, I'm tired, and just want to get home). But I knew ranting and raving and picking a fight/blaming Tony wouldn't help the situation. So I kept quiet, unbuckled Maddy, and we headed back inside the store. Unforunately they didn't have the right battery for our car. So Tony called Maddy's godfather, to see if he could help. We waited inside the store. Tony and Maddy walked around looking at the books. I just sat my butt down on one of the display couches, and tried to get some rest. I noticed a few people doing the same, so I didn't feel so bad.

It took about an hour for Scott to drive all the way from Richardson to Rockwall, where we were at. He was really awesome and bought a battery on the way (so we didn't have to go to another store and get one). And LUCKILY it did the trick. I (and Tony) were so happy and thankful it was just a problem with the battery and not something else. We definitely owe Scott and Mary something as thanks.

So that was our big drama for the weekend. Tomorrow is Tony's and my 7th year anniversary. We were wanting to go out to the Melting Pot (a fondue restaurant) to celebrate. But we haven't really made plans, and we need to find a babysitter for Maddy. We didn't even get each other anniversary gifts. Usually we try and coincide the gifts to match the anniversary themes. This year for 7th year, the themes are wool and copper.
