Since my classes this semester required minimal effort I've been able to start reading books again. For the past two years I haven't done much reading at all and it was starting to bother me. Just because I'm weird and like keeping track of stuff like this, I'm going to use this post to list all the books that I've read. I'll edit each time I finish a new book. And from now on I'll be listing the date that I finish the book as well.
Why would anyone care about what books I've read? I doubt they would. But I like to keep lists for my own personal amusement.
1. Dr Zhivago - Boris Pasternak
2. Crabwalk - Gunter Grass
3. Things Fall Apart - Chinua Achebe
4. Heart of a Dog - Mikhail Bulgakov
5. The Master and Margarita - Mikhail Bulgakov
6. If On a Winter's Night a Traveller - Italo Calvino
7. The Gulag Archipelago Volume I & II - Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn (600 freaking pages!)
8. A Man Without a Country - Kurt Vonnegut - 05/08/07
9. The Tin Men - Michael Frayn - 05/09/07
10.The Road - Cormac McCarthy - 05/30/07
11.Blood Meridian - Cormac McCarthy - 06/16/07
12.Numbers in the Dark - Italo Calvino - 07/06/07
13.The Heart of the Matter - Graham Greene - 07/08/07
14.A Clockwork Orange - Anthony Burgess - 07/27/07
15.Lolita - Vladimir Nabokov - 08/04/07
If I had to make a recommendation from this list, I would definitely suggest The Master and Margarita or If On a Winter's Night a Traveller. The Master and Margarita is probably one of the top 5 books I've ever read and If On a Winter's Night a Traveller is just a lot of fun to read.
