Nominated former member of the House Newt Gingrich as Speaker of the House. Luckily of the hundred plus other Republicans present not another one was insane enough to even second the nomination.
Louie Gohmert's explanation: "I just felt like it was time to change business as usual."
Well if I put a rabid badger down my pants that would not be business as usual, but it would not be desirable and I expect it would be about as wise as Louie Gohmert's nomination of Newt Gingrich as Speaker of the House.
