Interesting exchange on Fox and Friends between the hosts and guest Jerry Springer back on January 18th, 2012 if I recall the date correctly.
While discussing Newsweek's inflammatory headline "Why are Obama's Critics So Dumb?"
SPRINGER: If the point of this discussion is to be upset with a magazine that - even if it took the position that they’re pro-Obama - again, everybody in the media is doing things like that. We’re here on Fox News. Every single day, in fairness, you guys, every single day, bash President Obama.
CARLSON: I’m going to take you to task on that because on this panel right here, we have a fair and balanced panel right here. And I’m the independent.
SPRINGER: But, what’s the rest of the show? The rest of the show, every single morning, you guys are slamming Obama. You know you are. I’m not saying you don’t have a right to. But every single conversation is something bad about Obama.
Of course this was reacted to in flat denial of what everyone knows is true. Once again detracting from Fox News' Credibility
Searching on Fox News I find no record of this incident, however a Google Search found a clip on the Fox Nation Blog on FoxNews.com labelled:
'Fox & Friends' Puts Jerry Springer in His Place
http://nation.foxnews.com/jerry-springer/2012/01/18/fox-and-friends-puts-jerry-springer-his-place Not sure why I cannot find this searching Fox using their own search engine, and I am not sure why the comments are turned off on the blog. But anyhow; I don't see how Gretchen Carlson saying it isn't disproves what one can see watching any given episode of Fox and Friends. Hate to admit it, but even Jerry Springer can point out the obvious. I don't see how 'Fox & Friends' put Jerry Springer in his place.
In defense of Fox and Friends: Fox News Corp does not consider Fox & Friends, a morning show to be an objective News Show. It is an 'opinion' show likened to the editorial page. Objective News is from 9-4 and 6-8. "The average consumer certainly knows the difference between the A section of the newspaper and the editorial page," -Mr. Clemente, Senior Vice President for News.
But to give Gretchen her due, Jerry Springer is wrong about one thing. Not "every single conversation is something bad about Obama."
So why is Gretchen Carlson, on Fox & Friends, an opinion/editorial show, so worried when confronted by the creditability of Jerry Springer? Is her Bubble of Denial that Fragile?
Yes, yes it is.
