So yeah...totally stole this from him...below. :)
1.Egg nog or hot chocolate?
Egg nog for teh win - cuz in good old FL, we don't snow..or coldness (well we do but rarely)
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
Under the tree in front of the giant multitude of pressies :)
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?
Colored..helloooo! Duh
4. Do you hang mistletoe?
Not ever. Cuz honestly I had nobody to kiss, so why bother?
5. When do you put your decorations up?
We start with the lights and giant yard candy canes about...mid-December and decorate the tree a week before
6. What is your favourite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?
umm, not a dish per se but my grandmother's greenbeans...hand grown and absolutely delicious!
7. Favorite holiday memory as a child?
This is kind of an ongoing memory. Everytime my fam went up to NC for Christmas, Kris and I would wake up (always, like freaking clockwork!) between 2 and 3 am, check our stockings and then scamper down into the basement ("Stop giggling Megan!") and see our Santa pressies :)
Oh and of course that one year in NC that we actually had a white Christmas and Grandma dragged out the old sleds and we went up and down that mountain all day :)
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
The year I received my xylophone, so uh, I was 16 (Hush, I knew it really, I was just in denial). Grandma (different one from the one ^^^ up there) was like "ooh do you like it? Your dad had me hide it out here since November! Hahaha!" I was thanks Grandma...You ruined my LIFE!
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
Only the always given pajamas and slippers from Majah and Fajah. (I'm not like my bf, whose fam open ALL presents on Christmas Eve!) Haha, last Christmas, I was already sacked out by like 10:30 Christmas Eve and Kris was at Mass with Christina, and Mum came in at like 1 am and kept trying to get me to open the present containing my pajamas and I kept saying "Go 'way..I'm tired! I'll open it later!" Haha
10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
We used to have a fake tree so I would put it together (just me, always just me!) then the lights go on, then garland (if applicable) then everyone gathers and puts their own ornaments on the tree together :) all together with me now "awwww!"
11. Snow, love it or hate it?
I hate being cold, but for snow, I love it. I just never see it much since I like in HOT TEMPERATE FL.
12. Can you ice skate?
Hardly!
13. Do you remember your favorite gift?
uhh, favorite? That would have to be Giraffe (pronounced Giraffie) aka Raffe. Grandma BJ (in NC) gave him to me my first Christmas EVER and I still have him. He guards my bed at home since I don't trust NOBODY at my college.
14. What’s the most important thing about the holidays for you?
Just being my family every Christmas and knowing that (hopefully) all of them, Mum Dad and Kris, will be in the exact same spot the next year. Also, the feeling that drops over everyone, even strangers. Christmas just seems to make everyone just a bit nicer (or some a bit crazier haha!)
15. What is your favorite holiday dessert?
GRANDMA'S APPLE PIE for the win!!
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Split between going up to NC every other year for Christmas and (still) waking up between 2 and 3 am and going through my stocking, waking Kris up and dragging her down to the basement to check out our "Santa" pressies
17. What tops your tree?
used to be a ratty but adorable teeny angel, then a star now a porcelain angel
18. Which do you prefer, giving or receiving?
I'll say both. Who doesn't like getting gifts? But I like seeing my friends and fam's face light up when they open my present :)
19. What is your favorite Christmas song?
Ok, let's see..."Please come home for Christmas" by Aaron Neville (dad says its depressing but I lurve it), "Silver Bells" by Martina McBride, "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee and "Winter Wonderland" by Barbara Mandrell
20. What do you leave for Santa?
Home baked cookies, milk (low fat - haha) and carrots, of course, for the reindeer (aka DAD)
Ok, I officially smite this damn essay. I've already finished the first two floors of the library and still have two more. Blech. But whatever, if this gets me a passing grade (hopefully B!) then I'll DO IT!
Then I have to type up my damn drafting notes for English. Buhhhh
Everything's just kind of falling into place - the paper to help me not fail History, turned in a damn good 3rd essay for English, Thanksgiving in 5 days, Kristin's coming back in 28 days!!
It happens every year at the beginning of October, and I love it. It's like a downward spiral ending in Christmas :)
And its FINALLY cool outside! Yayaya!
ok, back to essay!
