VP debate thoughts
Much like last week, thoughts thrown on "paper" throughout the VP debate tonight.
*facepalm* "Can I call you Joe?" I don't know, that just sounded stupid to me from the get-go.
Another round of American workforce being "the greatest in this world". Rrrrr.
Like someone on my friend's list mentioned recently, I love that Palin is "new energy" but Obama is inexperienced. Way to go with the double standards, guys.
That's just me coming from a VERY different mindset, but fuck you, Palin. Paying more taxes IS patriotic because it actually shows solidarity. Argh.
I love how she's constantly referring to this ONE time McCain apparently warned the country. It's like he's been in office 20+ years and if he was really a visionary as far as economy is concerned she should have able to cite more than the one instance.
Palin doesn't want to talk about the cause of climate change? WHAT THE HELL. How else do we address the problem and find a solution, you complete idiot?! And of course global warming was caused by human activity. *stabs* At least Biden addressed the whole 'don't care about the cause' thing.
"Other countries who don't care about the climate as we do." WHAT. WHATWHATWHAT. *STABS* SERIOUSLY. The US has been the BIGGEST fucking polluter of the WHOLE FUCKING WORLD. They didn't sign Kyoto when everybody else did. And now she throws that in everybody's face? *STABSTABS* And you don't fucking get to blame India and China right now because the US is still polluting so fucking much, and regardless of that, you don't get to reset the count to zero now that you've polluted for over a century and have gotten far ahead of everyone thanks to POLLUTING EVERYONE'S AIR. ARGH. I cannot fucking believe she said that.
Oh, and you are a fucking demagogue and climate change is one of the things where we can't just listen to people going 'drill baby drill'. Addressing climate change requires making tough, LONG-TERM choices. ARGH. And nuclear is still NOT environmentally friendly. >.< >.<
"tolerant of adults in America who choose relationships they think are good for them". And you want me to applaud you for tolerating LGBT folks? Well, FUCK YOU.
I can't begin to say how much I hate the double-speak of pretending they're for equality but not same-sex marriage. And isn't it great that they can find common ground in discriminating against same-sex couples. YAY bi-partisanship! >.<

Any one else thought it was pretty funny she'd mention women's rights as one of the things America should be proud of?
And Israel is a peace-keeping nation? Um. Funny. I don't think the Palestinians would agree. (For the record, I'm not implying Palestinians are all innocent victims here, just that it's a stretch to say Israel is a peaceful region considering their history.)
