That 1913 piece of legislation that the governor almost pulled out of his pants is ridiculous. I do have to wonder if for the moment it isn't best though, in the sens that maybe it makes the other states less "afraid" of the influence Mass. might have over them and so maybe they won't feel that the Marriage Amendment to the constituion is necessary. Last time I heard, Mass. had decided it was fine to marry non-residents who came from states who hadn't specifically passed anti-gay-marriage legislation? But anyway, the number of those is shrinking every day... -_-

It really annoys me that gay marriage is such a big deal in the US and that it's one of the issues people actually take into account when voting for someone. It's absolutely ridiculous, when you think about it, because the last thing we need to worry about right now is who's sleeping with who and whether they can get married or not. Tsk. Am always amazed at some people's capacity to focus everyone's attention on issues that don't really matter for people not involved (aka 92% of the population...), and make them believe those issues are essential. Yes, gays will be the destroyers of society. Guns and war and hate, no. Those are good things.
