Thus far...
Well, I have had a somewhat interesting week, or however long it has been since my last post. I was in northern Italy for 5 days last week in a villa on Lago Maggiore. The villa was huge and beautiful- and haunted by a ghost or something (really though). We will be going back there for 3 weeks in July. Some of the pics that I have taken are on facebook because I really don't want to bother putting them on myspace because it seems to complicated lately. I may or may not be getting a flickr account soon. we'll see.
I also would like to proudly and blatantly admit that I do not understand guys. whatsoever. This is not necessarily a new development but one that has been becoming more and more obvious within the last couple of days. Just putting that out there. Ask me for details later if you'd like.
I don't have a whole lot to discuss right now because I am ridiculously tired. This is due to a lack of sleep and the fact that I was a chaperone for the first time ever in my life. I always thought that I would be much older, but fate didn't see it that way and all of the other chaperones suggested that I become a teacher because I have a "gift". They said that I could find a job teaching english in Germany with no problem- their second suggestion was to "find a nice german husband". Seriously, they said that to me. Anyway, after chaperoning, I was informed that my "host mom" was not going to pick up myself and her 3 year old, but that she wanted me to take the German public transportation. This is fine. I love Germany's public transport system. However, this particular route required a lot of stops and it just so happened that the 3 year old boy fell asleep at the beginning of the journey. This resulted in me carrying a near 50 lb. boy throughout the entirity of the German city of Frankfurt. I was hot, and tired, and I'm not going to lie, I got a little lost for a minute. Oh well.
All in all, things are going really well here and I really do like the family. Now I just need to get out and meet more people. I swear, this will happen once I get more settled (this is also the time when I plan to actually start speaking German rather than just understanding what people are saying and responding to them in English- I really must stop doing that!)
Well, that was quite an arbitrary entry. Sorry about that.
