So I decided it is way too nice of a night outside to sit inside and bee cooped up. Plus it was a really nice day out too. And since I've read two YA books in about 4 days I'm feeling super ambitious and a bit better since I carved time out of my life to read. Turns out the Percy Jackson series isn't terrible. Now it's not Earth shattering either, but not bad.
So yeah I fail at updating at this, but I do feel like I"ve done a halfway decent job of keeping You guys updated via other means. Like calling (I know I still suck at it Jackie but hopefully I'm starting to suck less) and IMing with Ashley. If I've been failing at that, let me know and I'll make more of an effort either to call or to actually write here.
This month has been rough to get into. I don't know what it is about February exactly that always makes it a rough teaching month but geez. Getting into the swing of things has been hard. And a few of my classes don't really make it any better. I feel like I am repeating myself over and over and over again. I'm not even changing what I say to kids but every class there are about 3, and not always the same three, that decide they don't have to pay attention to directions and then have no fucking clue what's going on and need it all re-explained to them. I want to beat each and every one of them. And then tell them fuck it, they can figure it out on their own. Or to read the directions. That's been a popular phrase of mine for the last 2 weeks. But then my kids will do something unexpected, such as my 5th hour being quiet and actually working today. All hour. Without any major fights, cussing, or breakdowns. I had no idea what to do with that. Plus we're sort of in the boring part of research paper land and I kind of want the paper to be done with, but I gotta do it the right way. BLECH.
Good news is that I adore Forensics. It takes up just as much time as Debate (possibly more with the longer practices) but it's amazing. I like working with some of the beginner speeches and Jones has sort of just handed me some of the acting stuff and I love it. It's so much fun to hear the kiddies run through all that stuff. And since a bunch of the kids are the same between the two it's been easier to get to know the other new kids. Also my buddy Amber is pretty much my saving grace at Liberal. And she sort of feels the same way about me. We're Bones and Castle buddies. It's kind of amazing. She's married too (go figure) and has a little one (also go figure) but that's sort of just normal for me at this point I think. And in traditional Sarah fashion I made friends with the little one and Monday night he was very angry that I wasn't over at the house sooner and made Amber call me so he could say so. Little ones are so cute.
There's probably more to say, but it's getting cold out and if I go inside it's going to be You Don't Know Jack time with the little brother and I won't get around to finishing this. So LOVE you too and hopefully I'll put more up here on a regular basis
