Someday I will have a daughter. And I will tell her about the music. Maybe I'll tell her at night. We'll sit in our backyard and look up at the stars.
And I'll tell her about the music that happened so very long ago. I'll tell her about the looks, the people, the time, but most importantly about the music.
I will tell her that good music is rare, but if you know where to look you can find it. That once you love a musician, you will always have that friend. They will always be there for you, and they will always say the same thing.
I'll tell her that I owe a great deal of my love of music to my family. My wonderful, wonderful family. I will tell her that she has a heritage of loving good music that she will never be able to live without, and she'll pass it on to her daughter.
I will tell her how it's changed. From vinyl, to cassette, to cd. How things change, how people change. But good music remains the same. And it is always there.
