Day 13 - Favorite childhood show -

Well, I had several...naturally. *grin*

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. -

Illya Kuryakin and Napoleon Solo: two of the coolest spies ever. Illya is the reason I will always have a fondness for black turtlenecks. Looking back, the lack of over-arcing story arcs is rather frustrating, but the show is full of wonderful one-off episodes. This one, for example, had two young guest stars who would later go on earn fame as two iconic characters on another TV show...

And there was Bonanza...There's gonna be another post about this later, so for now here's just a picture of the Cartwright family.

Robin of Sherwood - RoS was both an early and a later favorite. When I was younger I suffered under the misconception that there were only FOUR episodes in the series. 'Robin and the Sorcerer' - 'The Swords of Wayland' - 'Herne's Son' and 'Time of the Wolf.' You can see where I would be confused. For years I was all, 'How did the Sheriff catch Robin? What the heck?' etc, etc. This confusion was all due to only the two-parter episodes being released on video over here at the time, and those four eps were all our library had. So I watched them over and over. I loved them, even if they confused me and secretly I thought there should be more.
And then one wonderful day, I stumbled across an email group for the show. I joined, I discussed things with the group only to make a startling and fabulous realization. There were more than four episodes. There was an entire show, with lots of unseen episodes just waiting for me. It was amazing, I tell you. I bought the videos and watched them all. Then I watched them again. Eventually, I got the dvds as well.
When I first joined Livejournal, the first icon my sister showed me how to make was a Robin of Sherwood one. I've been to several filming locations. I've met Michael Praed... *happy sigh*
Robin of Sherwood will always remain the definitive Robin Hood story to me. Nothing's forgotten...
