Why am I not surprised?

I was reading the Wall Street Journal this morning and came across an article on the Hotel Marques de Riscal in Spain. My first thoughts apon seeing the photograph: Damn it Frank Gehry!

He's done it again. Yet another fusion of his Guggenheim in Bilbao, Spain and the EMP building in Seattle, Wa. And it's no surprise that his Walt Disney Concert Hall, Richard Fisher Center for the Performing Arts and the Weisman Art Museum look noticeably similar.

Being someone fascinated by and actively involved in the arts, I am disgusted by his blatant self-plagiary. Unfortunately, this behavior is being reinforced by public support of such projects. Not to mention contracts with Fossil and Tiffany and Co. to design jewelry. Which makes sense because jewelry is so much like architecture. (note the sarcasm).

This is not to say that I don't LOVE his Dancing House in Prague. However, for someone whose style is supposed to be innovative and different, it is disheartening to see that his projects are essentially the same.
