Not printed at taxpayers' expense

Dear Friend,

The election is now less than three months away. Your early support has been vital to laying the foundation for victory in November. [i believe my mom voted democratic then.]

I hope you'll give my campaign some important additional help today by doing two things for me.

First, will you put this "W'04" bumper sticker on your car or that of a neighbor or family member who's backing me? Our goal is to have 1 million bumper stickers go on cars this month. [how boyscout-ish of you]

Second, would you send $1,000, $500, $250, $100, $50, $35, or even $25 today to help offset the hundreds of millions of dollars liberal special interests are spending to try to defeat me?

I am relying on friends like you to help overcome this massive outpouring of liberal special interest cash, so I can take my agenda for a brighter future for America directly to the voters.

Will you commit yourself to working with me for our compassionate conservative agenda by sending a special contribution of $1,000, $500, $250, $100, $50, $35, or even $25 today? [what, no underlining "today" again?]

Your strong support and friendship means a lot. And sending your check and displaying your sticker today is important to winning.

More than most Americans, you know how high the stakes are -- and what we're fighting for. [must suppress grammar nazi urges.]

At the end of July, Democrats gathered in Boston to nominate my opponent. This was a launching pad for the other side's next round of attacks. I can overcome their assaults if I have your extra help today.

My Administration is focused on:
  • Winning the War on Terrorism and leading the world to greater security and peace;
  • Cutting taxes and restraining government so taxpayers keep more of what they earn to spend, invest, or save as they please;
  • Strengthening the economy to increase job growth so every American who wants a job can find one; and,
  • Encouraging high standards and accountability in our public schools so no child is left behind and schools are held responsible for teaching the basics.
    [couldn't he have accomplished all of that while in office?that, and the last sentence is really bothering me with its redundancy.]

The other side has offered little but bitterness and anger, reinforced in millions of dollars of ads funded by liberal special interests. ["they have more money than me!]

We can overcome this massive barrage of TV ads in battleground states if I have your help again today. ["by using that magical bumper sticker i have enclosed"]

So please display your commitment by placing a "W'04" bumper sticker on your car or truck today and send your gift to my campaign today. [so, one more time: today!]

This is my final political campaign and I'm counting on you.

Thank you again for all your support.

Sincerely,
George W. Bush

P.S. Display the enclosed bumper sticker proudly as a symbol and return your special contribution today of $1,000, $500, $250, $100, $50, $35, or even $25 to advertise my message in key battleground states. [again with the money...] Thank you.

i dunno. i felt bad for bush, but that shouldn't be a reason for him to be re-elected [shudders]. but i don't care much for kerry either.
