I'm already wanting a new purse. Just over a year ago, I got myself a really nifty Marc by Marc Jacobs
Totally Turnlock Terri bag [in black] as a conversion from diaper bag to purse with room to store diapers and baby crap in it.
I still like it in general, but now that I've been carrying it for a while, I'm kind of wanting more of a bag that zips at the top, but has individual compartments inside that I can separate out diapers, wipes, my personal items, cups, and snacks as I do in this purse. Like I said, I don't hate the Marc Jacobs purse, but I dislike the fact that two of the three compartments are open and therefore exposed to things falling out. Plus, everyone can see the diapers practically hanging out of my purse. Which, I guess, is like, "So what?" because, obviously, I'm a mom, but it's still annoying to have them sticking out like that. I'd like something, that, when I convert to potty training mode, I have room to stuff extra clothes in - I'd rather not start carrying an actual diaper bag again until I have another infant. At that point, the cycle starts all over again .... diaper bag, large purse with compartments, and one day -- one day -- I will be able to carry a regular sized purse full-time again! Until then, it's large purse part time, regular purse occasionally.
I know this is ridiculously anal-retentive, but these are the things I think about. I love my purses, so finding the perfect purse will probably be a ever-constant quest for me.
I have found a regular purse that I love and use on my non-child days, a Betsey Johnson black leather satchel with awesome little ruffles and braided handles, but it isn't big enough for everyday use. I need something like that, but bigger and with compartments!
Oh dear, oh dear. The problems in my life. What will I ever do? Hah.
