I'm back, baby -- I'm BACK!

Ladies and gentlemen, I have an announcement to make.

We witnessed a rare sight tonight. A sight we have seen once, maybe twice in the history of our dear, beloved television series. Our little Jim Halpert became a MAN today!

Of course, we witnessed the so-called birth of one Mr. Halpert once before, long ago, in a dark office not far from the glitzy lights of Office Casino Night. But that man ran away -- far, far away, to a horrible, boring land named Stamford, where he met an equally boring soon-to-be girlfriend. Regressed once more to boyhood status, he eventually came back to the place that once made him a man. But it was no longer recognizable to him, as he was blinded by the glare of his pride and stupidity. So our boy continued along his journey, ignoring his obvious fate. One day, after practically being hit in the face with said fate, he realized something had to change, and the following day, unmercifully dumped his boring girlfriend to be with the woman he REALLY wanted to be with: one Miss Pamela Beesly.

Now, despite knowing his true fate: to marry our Miss Beesley, and even after buying the ring after only dating her for a week (how's THAT for knowing!), our Mr. Halpert decided to wait. And wait. He even teased the love of his life about when and how it was going to happen. And when it finally was going to happen, he was thwarted, by his own co-worker! And instead of just manning up right away and getting it over with, he waited some more. And more.

Until finally... our dear Mr. Halpert realized that life is f-in' short, and you can't wait on this stuff. And that was the day our Mr. Halpert became a MAN!

And the only other thing I can say about that is: FINALLY, DAMN IT.

Oh: and thank God he didn't do it in the Office!!

Honestly, can I tell you how glad I am that they didn't drag out this stupid engagement storyline. The whole will-they / won't-they storyline is done. They're together. They're meant to be together. Let's move on. To more interesting storylines...

Like Michael and Holly, for instance! OMG. Best characters ever. I mean, I need say nothing about Michael, who is the crown jewel of The Office, and without which, I probably would not watch. But Holly - how they managed to create such a sweet, lovable, dorky, cute woman that is so perfect for Michael--! And how much they both like each other, oh wow. This is going to be a fun storyline to follow, for sure.

I just about cried when Michael tore up those tickets, but you know, in retrospect, I couldn't think of a better way Michael could have reacted. Because it's so Michael. So not getting the point. Man, am I happy to have the Office back!

There was literally so much good stuff in this episode, I wouldn't even know where to start.

- Andy's wedding planning. Here Comes Treble! Oh, when he started listing off the guys' names and Angela immediately picked up the phone, I nearly died.

- Phyllis and her rack. Oh, Phyllis, you whore.

- Phyllis being the (new) head of the Party Planning Committee! HA.

- Kelly's diets.

- Ryan - the TEMP. AGAIN! There are no words for this.

- Pam and the webcam talking-head.

- "Do you think I'm retarded?" That was probably the best joke ever. I really wish they would have kept that one running a little longer.

I don't know -- there was so much more, so much more. I just, I can't think right now, I'm so giddy to have my show back. I also watched My Name is Earl, which was pretty funny, but in that base way that everything's funny when you have a couple drinks, you know? The Office is great whether you're piss-ass drunk or haven't had a drink ever. Because it's just funny, period.

I cannot wait for 30 Rock next week. YEA TV.
