World's dumbest place to hurt yourself
So I cut the fingertip of my right hand middle finger. I did this when I was trying to clean out an empty can of formula in order to recycle it. See what being 'green' is costing me??
The thing that irritates me is that I didn't realize how often I use that finger. It's particularly a nuisance when I try to type, as I have to hit that finger almost once a word. I'm trying to get used to using my other fingers to hit the keys or using the side of that finger when I type with it, but it's a lot harder than you'd think. Ow.
I have a lot of things to talk about, but I've been so tired lately, I haven't had time to catch up. This injury certainly does not inspire me to want to write a lot on here, either.
I just got back from a week-long vacation to Washington, D.C. with my parents. It went well. Dex traveled in the car fairly well. He was a bit cranky on the trip back, but only for part of the time. He also slept a lot in the car and was generally pretty darn good for a baby on his first two-day car trip.
I will try to post a few pictures of our trip at some point...
My big excitement for the weekend is that I'm going to see the X-Files movie TOMORROW. I had the dilemma of figuring out how to go see it, because I didn't really want to go alone, but wasn't sure who would watch Dex if we went. Then I talked to my sister, thinking maybe she would do it, all the while forgetting that my brother-in-law is a HUGE X-F fan himself. Ha! So, we decided to make a date-night of it, while she can still go out, and my parents are going to watch the baby. I feel bad saddling them with him, because I need them to watch him on Monday as well while I get some work done. But, they happily obliged, so I guess I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. If that's the appropriate phrase here, which I don't think it is.
(Side note: ow. Again.)
Anyway, I'm just exhausted -- I think I'm still a bit lagged from the trip. I've spent the last two days trying to catch up on general housework and picking up after the neglect my husband left all over the house. Men.
Can't wait to see my Mulder and Scully again. I've gathered (being completely non-spoiled) that the fan reviews have been positive so far, so YEA. ILU MULDER AND SCULLY. /nerd
