Who wants a cleeeee-an house?

OK, so obviously, my obsession with Clean House is paying off, because I finally tackled the mess in the dining room today, and put away all my books. Well, most of them -- because I put together three boxes and three bags of books to give away! This is a huge victory on my part, because I almost never give away books. But ... I decided I needed to give away some paperbacks that I will never look at again -- i.e., my Young Jedi Knights series, my Garfield comic books, the X-Files novels (ugh), and a bunch of books I read and ended up hating. Who needs to be reminded of that? It eliminated a small bookshelf's worth of books. Ha! I know I'm going to fill it up again within a year, so.

I also went through all of Wes's old computer games and after consulting with him, boxed most of them up. He only wanted to keep one of them that I had downstairs, so -- yea. I think I boxed up about 20 or 25 games.

Then, I talked to my sister and asked her what baby stuff she wanted from me, and she said she'd pretty much take anything, so I'm going to bring a bunch of stuff over to her. Yes -- I already have stuff to get rid of! The biggest thing is my breast pump. Hmph. What a waste of money for me. I hope she's able to use it more than I did. Dex has already grown out of his newborn clothes, so I gave those to my mom on Saturday along with the bassinet and bedding for that. I also have a bunch of swaddlers and a few other little things. Oh, I LOVE getting rid of stuff!

Probably almost as much as I love shopping. Heh.

Out with the old, and in with the new, baby!

My next organizing step is to go through the rest of the office paperwork and miscellany that's downstairs still and figure out what to do with it. I think I'm going to get some plastic bins and box up Wes and my old writing papers. I know neither of us wants to part with it, but we don't want it upstairs, either. If I put it in plastic bins, I can store it in the crawlspace. After that's done, I then need to go through my clothes and figure out what regular clothes I don't want anymore...

Then I'll tell my family to just buy me clothes for my birthday so I can get some new stuff to replace what I got rid of. Yea.

Phew. I am exhausted now. Dex has been sleeping since about eight o'clock, I think. I need to try and get in an hour or two of shut eye before he wakes up.

cleaning, house
