and had my whole future in front of me. A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints is first the life story of not one boy but a few, then a book, then a movie, and the rest is history. robert downey jr plays the elder dito, the elder Dito and its his life. taking place in the 80's; his adolesent life was filled with only one small part of nyc, one group of friends, gang wars, and a father that seemed to treat his best friend more like a son than him. this all quickly changed. he meets mikey, a kid from scotland whom has seen so much more, and was taught to think wider. Dito takes train trips with him to coney island, Manhattan, and to make money walking dogs for a gay man. while being conflicted to be the best friend abused, angry anthony has always had, the son that never was him, gangs tagging his house then beating him, a truly loving girlfriend, a old friend getting killed, a new friend getting killed, and anthony going to jail for murder of the gang leader threating the neighborhood and dito.. he dreamed of leaving for california. He did it. He comes back 15 plus years later, after pleaing calls for him to return and make his ill father go to the hospital, and has to face his demons.
this was just what i got from the movie, imagine the book.
this real life story. every gut wrenching emotion was real. and thats what life is, good or bad thats what we have.
thats it for this post. nite.
