(150 words or less) Which activity has been the most meaningful?
146 words: In life, it is not always the most noteworthy experiences that are most meaningful. Important activities such as working to better the community are forgotten, while the memories of participating in high school musicals remain forever. There is no greater lesson to be learned in the public education system than that of joining and supporting something larger than the individual. With all the focus today on self-reliance and self-confidence, students must learn that they are not islands, and that their personal success is often dependent on others’ performances. Being part of the musical was meaningful because it taught me that I am part of a greater whole, and that as such I must do my part to ensure the overall success of that group entity. To shirk even my small responsibilities left the rest of the students vulnerable to larger failures. “For want of a nail…”
