I haven't much browsed the Ao no Exorcist fandom stuff since I also noticed from the very early point that it's just a plague. (I really like Yukio/Shiemi - seen maybe one fanart of them.)

I hope I don't sound like a bitch who's like "YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE OPINIONS RAWR CHANGE THEM NOW!!!!" but I wanted to point out about Madoka, it's meant to look as childish and moeshit like as possible so that the horror aspects will have more impact. (not a big fan but this is more like a warning since people have made fools of themselves by saying the series is too childish and sugary and I don't want people to think the same about you)
Also Tiger&Bunny's fandom is just plagued like so many others (and I think I'm the only fan on the globe who hates it), there's only hetero romance in the real series. Its plot is like an American super hero show if you care to know that much.

Tiger & Bunny is actually something that could hold interest for me, it is all the yaoi fanart clogging pixiv that turns me off to it. Same thing for Madoka but replace the word yaoi with moe. And I just can't get over how the heads don't seem to match the bodies. I am just too damn cynical, I think.

I can relate to your feelings really well - and I like it how you speak them out loud! I tend to be too nice to everyone while being cynical inside. Anyway, I guess I'd recommend ignoring pixiv for a while and maybe giving either a go. (I myself actually like T&B better but can't really admit that to anyone since Madoka is seen as some kind of God of anime at the moment)
