As I begin this entry, I am watching the last episode contained in Season 2 Volume 1 of Glee (borrowed from my friend Marcie) and sipping on a rum and coke. It is the Christmas episode and is quite enjoyable despite it being late March now. Glee is a lot of fun; the melodrama is kind of silly, but the musical numbers are great. In fact, I am very tempted to buy a couple of the CDs when I am at work on Friday... this despite my vow to not spend any unnecessary money until my New York trip next month. At least I could say that I am making the most of my employee discount.
Ordinarily, I would be at school right now, but as I mentioned in my last entry, this week is my spring break. I am in a good mood. I've had two baking successes in a row; yesterday I made beer bread (a ridiculously easy recipe, to be honest) and today I made a pineapple-brown sugar galette. It was the first time I ever made a pie crust from scratch and it turned out great! I think I might try a double crust pie next. I'm thinking blueberry. Yay! I am following through on my New Year's resolution and I love it!
With midterms over, I have been playing more Pokemon (which is keeping me from reading, for school or pleasure). I've gotten six badges now and have something of a team developing. My current motley crew:
Taffy (male-I intend to evolve him fully via Thunderstone once he's learned more powerful moves)
Marzipan (female)
Breakfast (male)
Waffles (female)
Chili (female)
Cheerio (male)
As you can see, I love to name my Pokemon after food.
Tomorrow I am going to have lunch with my friend Erika, which is great because I have been kind of a lousy friend lately and haven't seen her in so long. Then on Saturday I have plans to get dinner after work with some friends. Hurray for baby steps towards being more social!
Oh yes! I almost forgot the biggest news of all. This happened the day after my birthday and I have tried to be hush-hush about it, but I can't keep it in: me and my sexy exy have reconciled and are dating again. I am being a lot more cautious this time around, of course. But I think both of us have learned a lot from our time apart. I've learned to be less clingy and more independent. And he's learned to not take me for granted. We are going to try harder this time and have a lot of fun together.
