I am about halfway through The Hunger Games and I must say it is pretty awesome. I am loving it so far. And since I have Thursday and Friday off, I am going to buy Catching Fire before I leave work tomorrow. Anyone out there in f-list land read these books? I love Katniss and Peeta

I am still on book 1 so I don't have all the facts. I just find Gale kind of boring and a cliche love interest. It is not hatred or anything. Just a yawn because he is very generic.

Well, still being in the first book, I don't have the full story. But so far Gale's role and his backstory seem very... supergeneric, for lack of a better word. The childhood friend from the poor neighborhood is just such a cliche, and even his personality seems like every other character who has ever filled the role. There is nothing wrong with him so I do not hate, but it Katniss wound up with him I would find it rather lame.

Well, right now I've only read the first book and I already feel like if she winds up with Gale I will cry. I have started to cajole the guy I am seeing to read the books, too, but I don't know what I will do if he is Team Gale.
