I was given Hetalia, Eyeshield 21, and Soaring Cake Girl by kanki_yamato so here it goes:
Axis Powers Hetalia
01. It was that damn Pixiv! I was able to remain apathetic through all the wank and "fandom secrets," but a Japanese art archive defeated me. I started collecting fanarts and thinking the characters were all so cute, and before I knew it I had read all the scanlations, bought the books from amazon.jp, and now have almost 1600 pictures in my Hetalia fanart folder.
02. This is still a new one and my obsessive love is still pretty intense so it is hard to imagine getting over it any time soon. But when I move on to new fandoms, the old ones tend to stay in my heart. I still love them, but not obsessively.
03. I love the strips about finding baby America, especially when Sweden interprets Finland's interest as him wanting kids. Then later, Sweden buys Sealand off the internet in another strip and it is so cute. The Chibitalia strips are up there too.
04. I have crocheted a Chibitalia doll as well as a Mochimerica. And, against my better judgment, I have started the first chapter of an AU fanfiction. I hope it turns out good and people enjoy it.
05. Not really, it is already huge. I guess I wish that more of my preexisting friends liked it too because I am so afraid of boring them with my new obsession.
Eyeshield 21
01. I ignored it at the bookstore for so long because I am not really into sports or sports manga. But the cover of volume 18 got my attention because of the incredibly hot red-haired guy on the cover so I bought the first volume. Within two weeks I owned all the available English volumes and had read all the unavailable chapters online. It was love!
02. I sure as hell hope not since I have a Devilbat tattooed on my shoulder blade!
03. The Bando game, of course! Because the Bando Spiders are my favorite team. Also the match against the Dinosaurs. And Kid's backstory is really awesome. Yes, yes, many good storylines.
04. Indeed! I have written a multi-chapter fic, a one-shot fic, and two thirds of another multi-chapter fic (which I am currently a bit stuck on). I also draw fanart, but only have posted a little bit because it is mediocre. And, as I mentioned above, I have some *ahem* body fanart.
05. Yes! I love that it is a small, very peaceful fandom. But I want more fic besides just Hiruma/Mamori and slash stuffs. This series is so underrated! Makes me a bit sad to see Naruto and Bleach and Death Note so huge while this gem is overlooked.
Sora Kake Girl
01. It was probably seeing one of kanki_yamato's icons and think that Akiha just looked like a really cute heroine. The Imo-chan nendoroid figure from Good Smile Company also made me very curious.
02. If it continues to be good, I will always think it is a good series. I would buy it on DVD for sure if they released it in the USA, but I don't know if it will. It seems like the days of being able to buy hard copies of translated anime are coming to an end...
03. For some reason I really liked the one where Akiha befriend's Hako-chan, a girl who is literally stuck in a box. It was sweet but also very surreal (though not as surreal as the baseball episode). I also like any scenes with the student council because I am burning with curiosity over them. I think the president is cute, but that's just me.
04. I made some icons for my LJ and I have probably doodled my share of Akira, Imo-chan, and Ul in my sketchbook. Navibots are just easier to draw than humans.
05. Absolutely! Sadly, because it stars space babes, most of the fans are just pathetic male wankers. But if you look past the fanservice, it is a show with great animation, cool characters, humor, and a gradually unraveling plot that is interesting to follow. I worry there just aren't enough cute guys to hold most female fans' interests.
In other news, I think the new design for the female trainer in Heart Gold and Soul Silver is pretty darn cute. She looks a lot like Kris.
