It was taking Sally Tyler half of forever to convince her father that she would be fine, and could set up her dorm room on her own.

"But...you can't do this on your own."

Sally tried for a smile. "Yes I can."

"But..." he pulled out the sonic screwdriver. "Don't you need shelves. Everybody needs shelves."

"Dad, I've got the storage under the bed," Sally replied, pointing at the shelve unit underneath her bed. "See?"

"But...what if something invades the campus?"

"Then I will call you."

Her father, the almighty Oncoming Storm put up a stern face. "I don't like this. You're only eighteen. That's not old enough to leave home."

"It is for humans."

"You are a Time Lord."

"Lady," Sally corrected. "And I'm already moved into the room, and I've got classes starting tomorrow."

The almighty Oncoming Storm pouted. "But...I don't want you to leave home."

She smiled a little and hopped up onto her bed, pushing her light brown hair out of her face. "Christmas is just round the corner. In that time you could have like, twenty million adventures."

"But you'll be here. On your own."

"No I won't," Sally replied. She pulled a slip of paper from her pocket. "I've got a roommate; Dawn Summers. She's originally from Sunnydale. That's just south of here. And she spent some time in England, so the culture clash shouldn't be terrible. I'll be fine."

He shrugged. "It's just different. I didn't leave my Chapter House until I was sixty."

"Momma's boy."

"Oi! She was long gone by then, I'll have you know."

Sally frowned. "Sorry. S'not like that, though. I'll call, and we'll email and I'll see you for the holidays. And! I'll call you for help on my homework."

The Doctor seemed to brighten at this. "Really?"

She nodded. "Absolutely. Nobody knows physics like you know physics."

He grinned. "Quite right, too."

Sally smiled. "Now. I'm going to say what I have said constantly over the past four years: Get out of my room."

The Doctor chuckled and kissed her forehead. "Remember about the aspirin."

"Yes, Da."

"And don't drink too heavily, Gallifreyan physiology is efficient, but it isn't that efficient."

"Yes, Da."

He headed for the door. "Don't take candy from an Absorboloff."

"Yes, Da."

"And remember to study up on your momentum probabilities! You were always rubbish at those."

Sally frown. "Out."

He ducked out, but poked his head back in. "Look both ways before crossing the street!"

She took off her shoe and threw it at him.
