JE Secrets
je_secrets is a new LJ community. It is for anonymous posting of comments, a.k.a. secrets, about JE. It was scary when I read the first posting. But, after a while, I got used to it. It is a scary thing- this immense adaptability of a person's integrity. Although I can understand the reasons, I still do not like the fact that the posting is anonymous. Most of the comments are also anonymous. This makes them uncomfortable to read because it feels like eavesdropping on strangers, and knowing the people they were gossiping about. I read everything anyway. I am terribly bored and those secrets and comments are frightfully interesting. I might join the community, when I have something intelligent to say, or when I become brave enough. Speaking my mind frankly, i.e. offending certain fans, is akin to dipping a bare foot into a tank of piranhas while hoping that nobody is hungry. Although there are sensible, mature people in that community, and a few uptight ones. There are many rabid fans hiding behind masks of anonymity. Actually, are rabid fans without masks any less formidable?
It is excellent fodder for writing an entry. Let's see.
There is the drama about 'The Kanjani's Eden' (
kanjani8). I lurk there sometimes but I hardly download anything. I am a YouTube/Veoh fan. It seems that the maintainer, moderators and community-at-large are having a three-way conflict. The anonymity makes it rather distasteful. And, the moderators of JE Secrets had to freeze the thread. And, I felt like a lout who brought my portable stool and popcorn.
There also seems to be a two or three-way bashing festival between Kattun, News and Kanjani8 fans. I could tell there is much exchange between News fans and Kanjani8 fans on account of Nishikido Ryou but I couldn't quite tell who the Kattun ones are clashing with. Maybe it is a melee? This drama is so childish that it can not become ugly even if it tried.
And then, there were a couple of secrets which should have remained untold. Some people commented that they wanted to rape certain JE boys. 'Rape' really is not a word that should be used lightly. It has all kinds of negative connotations. Use 'ravish', which is so old a word that it sounds comical, even though it also has all kinds of negative connotations. Or, something else, please?
There were some nice ones, e.g. the ones about Sakurai Shou. Where did they find that new photograph of him? He looks so much better without the curly hair and facial hair. But, I am biased because I do not like shaggy men. Facial hair can get prickly. Also, Sakurai might be smart but, I think the smartest person in Arashi is Ninomiya Kazunari. That slouchy boy just does not apply himself much.
Why does nobody create a community where people can post their love of JE anonymously? I can give you plenty of reasons. The first being that the maintainer probably has to clear the mailbox every hour or so to prevent clogging. And, who needs that kind of community when there are plenty of fandom communities to do it non-anonymously.
Maybe I should start taking note of Korean bands. DBSK, was it? Did I get the order correct? My head is so full of acronyms of statistical tests for multiple comparisons that I can hardly register new ones.
