63 weeks. That's a long time. A lot has changed, a lot has not. We are in a new home, moved out and done with Breckenridge, Texas, and finally getting settled in. Seems we are a lot happier by all accounts. More space, more accoutrements, and more channels on the television to waste your time. I am finally at a point in unpacking that I can channel some energy into getting the stereo reconnected along with the upgrade of surround sound. My dad bestowed upon me his old Technics tower speakers one of the last times I was down in Houston. These speakers were the forefront of hi-fi in the early 90s. I think Kendra was really nervous when I took them off my dad's hands, but I think they are going to work out fine. They will serve as the main left and right. My existing Bose bookshelf speakers shall serve as the rear left and right speakers. I have already drilled holes and ran bailing wire through two 24' stretches of crown molding in the living room in order to hide the speaker wire, which I bought yesterday. The good stuff too, Monster Cable. Navajo White, if you must know, and yearns for contemplation on how a people dating back to the Southwest somewhere after 1000AD are connected with a consumers choice of color wire when it comes to home theater. Off-white or ecru was tested and apparently didn't do to well in urban markets. Anyway, I had to order the wall mounts for the rear speakers online. Sanus WMS2. $50+ after shipping, but less than the $69.99 MSRP stated on the manufacturer's website. I have a center speaker sized up, and will buy that as I get to the point of installation. So, today I have been attempting to drill needed holes in the existing built-in shelves/entertainment center to accommodate my master plan to listen to some wax in grand style. Oh, and some of the dvds I have in 5.1 will be nice too I'm sure. I'm looking at you Concert for Bangladesh. Only problem is my cordless drill batteries were both low on juice and died. I am waiting on the batteries to recharge to continue.
