Chapter four Rage and Love
*************88*****************
The next morning the suns rays were shining down onto Billie, warming him up too quickly for his liking. He hissed venomly as he awoke, angered by the sudden invasion of his peaceful slumber. He quickly pulled the black blanket up over his head, he had a shot thought of suffocating from the blanket, but it was quickly forgotten. He reached his pale hand down to the soft carpeted floor to retrieve his sun glasses, but was puzzled to find they weren't there.

He slowly pulled up the heavy cover just enough to see a leg, Tre's leg to be precise. He followed that leg up to see Tre standing there holding his sun glasses, his protection. "Missing something?" Tre asked.

Billie bit his lip, piercing it by accident. "Fuck!" He hissed, bringing his finger to his lip. When he pulled it away he saw a drop of the soft crimson on it, running down his finger seeping into the creases that made his print, his individuality.

"Billie tell me what happened." Tre said, bringing Billie from his trance.

"No Tre, give me my glasses." Billie replied.

Tre stepped out of the way of the suns rays, letting them bathe Billie in a harsh light that he didn't want to be in. Billie hissed for the second time that morning, slamming his eyes shut and drawing up his arm for some shield from the harsh light of morning.

"Give me my glasses!" Billie almost screamed, standing up. To Tre the scream sounded almost animalistic.

Tre looked up into Billie's eyes, expecting to see the soft green that he normally did, the green that comforted him, the green that he fell in love with all those years ago. Instead he saw a green that scared him, a green he thought shouldn't even exist, a green that was not Billie's green. He dropped the glasses and stepped back as far as he could, hitting the hard metal of the top bunk behind him with his head. He didn't even feel it though, he was too frightened of the man that he once loved, the man he still wanted to love, the man that was once his Billie.

The creature that was once Billie retrieved a few items of clothing from his suitcase that his lover must have brought into the bunks and picked up his dark black sun glasses from the soft carpeted floor, and stalked off to the bathroom.

***Thirty minutes later***
Tre was sitting on the small couch in the part of the bus they used as the living room, waiting for the creature to come out of the bathroom. He just sat there thinking of what had happened minutes earlier, staring off into space.

Billie came stalking out of the bathroom, steam crowding around him, for a split second Tre thought it was his Billie, the Billie he loved but then he remembered what had happened. He looked from the soft, just drying hair, to the black button up shirt Billie was known for with the red tie hanging at the perfect angel around his neck. Then he looked to the black pants that were always too tight and too short, with the studded belt, and then he looked down to the converse shoes on Billie's feet. The old pair he had owned for almost six years. He looked like his Billie, but Tre knew it wasn't. He wanted desperately for it to be. He knew though, hiding behind those glasses weren’t his Billie's green eyes, hiding behind those pouty lips that resembled Billie's weren’t Billie's crocked, cracked teeth, but sharp fangs.

"When?" Was the only word Tre spoke to the creature.

Suddenly Billie broke down into a hard fit of tears, falling to the floor. Tre stood up wearily and walked to the creature, dropping down to his knees and wrapping his bare arms around the weeping creature that resembled his Billie. He wanted to say it would be okay, he wanted to reassure the creature and bring back his Billie, his best friend, but he didn't know what he could say.

Billie tried to push at Tre, tried to get him off, tried to get the love and hope to leave. The feeling of someone actually caring for him, almost stung him. "Get the fuck off me!" Billie screamed with the same animalistic growl, pushing at Tre with all his might. Tre was flung back up against the couch that he had previously been sitting on.

Tre stood up and looked at the creature. He took a deep breath and walked towards him, reaching his hand down, bringing up his face and kneeling in front of him. "Make me like you Billie. Make me like you please!" Tre whispered to him. "I want to be like you."

"No you don't Tre! You don't!" Billie pushed at him once again and stood up. "Is this what you want? To never have anyone understand you, to have to keep yet another thing a secret? To have so many problems? To…” He trailed off leaning over Tre who was still lying on the floor, from when Billie had pushed him.

"Yes Billie, that's what I want. I want to know that we'll never have to part, even if I can't be with you. I want to know you'll be there forever."

Billie leaned down above him and without another word sunk his fangs into Tre's neck, tasting the sweetness of his best friend, his drummer, his secret lover. He drank until he knew Tre didn't have much blood left in his body. He pulled away quickly as not to drink the last drop.

Billie bit his own wrist and held it above Tre's soft beautiful lips, staining them with the dark crimson blood. "Take my hand now, be alive."

Billie brought his wrist down to Tre's mouth and Tre started to suck at the sweet nectar coming from his frontman, or this creature that used to be his frontman. Finally Billie pulled his wrist from Tre, so he wouldn't take too much. Tre fell back onto the floor, breaking out into a fit of convulsions that began to scare Billie Joe. Finally Tre calmed and opened his eyes, revealing a deep blue that resembled the ocean.

‘The ocean, will I ever be able to go and swim like a normal person?’ Billie thought to himself. Remembering the cool water, the salty taste when Mike would splash him and it would get in his mouth and sting his eyes. He was brought from his memories by Tre speaking.

"Thank you Billie." Was all Tre said. Billie looked to his face trying to find a hint of some emotion to explain all this. What he found was unreadable. This wasn't his Tre anymore, but on the other hand, he wasn't Billie anymore.

"Thank me for what? Turning you into a monster?" Billie said with a hint of disgust in his voice.

"I'm not a monster, I'm like you... You made me like you. What about Mike now? I mean, you have to turn him, or you'll never have a real relationship with him again."

"I can't do this to Mike, I love him to much, he's my lover."

"I'm your lover too Billie, or did you forget that? You have to do this, so we can all be together, forever."

“Tre, all you really have to look out for is other vampires, and you only have to drink a little bit of blood each week, You can survive on a few drops each month.” Billie said completely ignoring what he was actually supposed to comment on. “Oh, and you’ll need a pair of sun glasses.” Then he walked out, leaving a stunned creature, once called Tre Cool alone, lonely and shattered. A single blood red tear ran down his cheek. One which he quickly licked at as it slid past his mouth.

"Billie up yet?" Mike asked, walking onto the bus and setting down his coffee, offering a cup to Tre, who took it and sipped at it slowly.

"Um... yeah." Tre said letting what had just happened process in his brain. He sat back and looked at Mike. "Just don't bother him yet."
