INTERNET.
God, what did people do at work before the Internet was created? We had an five-hour TV, phone, and Internet outage today and I almost went insane. I didn't actually do any work since I couldn't call or email anyone, but I did work on my John-and-Teyla Thing-a-Thon submission and got it up to 1,427 words. Still not finished but getting close. Hopefully I can finish it up tonight. I'll probably post it last minute on Wednesday ... like I do with all my challenges.
My original fic word count is now, depressingly, down to 789 words. My brain decided to plop a new plot direction down for me and it didn't really fit with everything else I had written. I'm sure I'll be able to recycle some of what I wrote, but I'm starting at the beginning again. This will be version three.
The good thing about this version is that I actually like the way it starts and my main female protagonist has finally found her voice. All I had to do was give her blonde dreadlocks and suddenly she was there. It's made things much easier for me.
