Deathly Hallows: Finished

Jul 21, 2007 20:52

Actually finished it at around 8 this morning, but then I had to...you know, sleep for the rest of the afternoon.

I loved it. Completely and absolutely loved it.

What a fitting end to the series, even the mighty epilogue stuffed full of cheese and terrible naming skills. It just fit and felt right, and it was just what the series needed.

I think I cried my eyes out every half hour or so. There was just so much going on and so many things that I wanted to happen and that did and some many things that I didn't expect to happen and the vindication about having good guesses... It was an emotional rollar coaster.

I'm still a bit confused about certain plot points, which I'm such will be cleared up once I've re-read the ending when I'm awake. I always run out of steam just right near the end but I'm so into that I can't stop until I've read the last words and my understanding of the book always gets sacrificed until a later date.

If anyone wants to discuss deeper spoilers in the comments, go right on ahead. I'm rather lacking for HP related discussion because all my RL friends haven't finished the damn book yet because they read like snails or have weddings to attend or just can't handle the midnight to finish reading marathon.

ME: WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED THE BOOK YET?
RL FRIEND: I'm savouring it, Jess! it's the last one!
ME: Well, at least what chapter are you on?
RLF: Um...Fifteen?
ME: WHAT?! WHEN I CALLED YOU THIS MORNING AFTER I HAD FINISHED YOU WERE ON CHAPTER FIVE! ARE YOU TELLING ME YOU ONLY READ TEN CHAPTERS IN THE SIX HOURS IN WHICH I WAS SLEEPING? YOU COULD HAVE FINISHED THE BOOK! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?
RLF: Savouring!

That one's going to be annoyingly smug once its over though. Snape's her favorite character.
