I'm not even coherent about Nico right now. THE ONLY THING I WANTED FROM THIS BOOK WAS NICO POV AND YET IT DIDN'T HAPPEN /AND YET THERE IS SO MUCH FUCKING NICO IN THIS BOOK/ i can't
CORRUPTED is the right word. Jesus, I was unprepared for the amount of love flowing through my heart for Leo/Calypso. I don't think I'd have liked it as much if she was the passive pretty healer girl that she was in BotL. She's totally shallow, haha, and then Leo pulls a Holes on her and I am 1000 percent done.
I really love how Calypso has agency. When we see her in BotL she's very resigned to her fate; very much playing a role. Then this book comes around and WHAM, she is all "fuck this shit; I've been doing this for way to long and SOMETHING HAS GOTTA CHANGE." It's wonderful. And I love how it's her refusal to continue playing her part that actually results in a better ending.

And of course it's more fun to ship the things that aren't perfect! ;)
Yes! I liked that her interaction with Leo wasn't the same as it was with Percy and that she was pissed off that the gods had sent her a handful like him. It made her into a much more real character.

And I already talked about Percy on Tumblr so

And your tumblr response was exactly what I was looking for when I was musing about it yesterday. Way to grow as a person, Percy.
