1. Blue Moon (Midnighters #3) by Scott Westerfeld
2. The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen
3. Jane by April Linder
4. Bright Young Things by Anna Godbersen
5. Vixen by Jill Larkin

- I liked the end to the Midnighters series. It was nice to see some actual character growth from book-to-book in a YA series. I'm still not sure how I feel about the end involving Jessica's character, but it was a good, quick series overall.

- I was surprised by how much I like a Sarah Dessen book! Usually I avoid these types of books like the plague, but I really really liked The Truth About Forever. I might pick up another one of hers once I get through my Giant Pile O' Fiction.

- Jane, which is a modern day re-telling of Jane Eyre, sucked so bad. Like you don't even know. I still can't believe the author kept the LOL LOCK MY WIFE IN A TOWER storyline in a modern setting. It was really infuriating, and I put most of my thoughts on my YA blog.

- Bright Young Things and Vixen are books that are cut from the same cloth - both about three girls in the 1920s, trying to navigate life! - but Bright Young Things is definitely the superior book. Anna Godbersen's just a better writer and she knows how to write historical fiction. Jill Larkin had the unfortunate habit of using too much '20s slang in effort to make it sound OMG HISTORICAL while throwing in phrases like "mosquito bite boobs" in the narrative at the same time. Plus, her plot was boring and Godbersen does a much better job of tackling women's issues in historical periods anyway.

Currently reading: The Monk by Matthew Gregory Lewis. It's a horror fiction novel from, idk, the 17th centuryish? One of my seminars revolves around horror fiction this semester, so there will be some interesting titles popping up every now and then, I think.

Up next: I literally do have a pile to go through. I'm hoping to start Heist Society tonight; I've been meaning to read that for a while, actually. Then I'll probably go on to Allie Condie's Matched and maybe some more Gossip Girls? Also The Maze Runner.
