Yay! Sun!

I love this icon. I really do. If you're not a Glee fan (and how could you not be!) it is a reference to that show. Speaking of awesome shows, if you haven't seen it, you really should try and check out 'Life Unexpected' - didn't think I would love it as much as I do.

It snowed last night. Just a little though, and most of it is gone now, except for the stuff still in the shade. It is relatively cold outside but nice and toasty warm inside.

And sun! OMG. I totally have a sarcastic comment about how England is not always gloomy - there is sun occasionally...for whole minutes at a time... And it has been sunny all day. I keep standing in front of windows, or on corners of streets - arms stretched out going 'OMG - vitamin D!'

Homesickness seems to be passing for the most part. I am sure it'll be back at some point, but at least I'm not going around bursting into tears, thinking about how I miss even the crappy parts of NZ (you know like buses and NZ Post).

And they finally sorted out the paperwork issues with my pay (really, it's good that my savings are good, coz I've been here a month). I checked my bank account today and there is about £1000 more than I though there was going to be (£1500, if I want to be perfectly honest, as I haven't exactly restricted my spending). Not cause for a spending spree however as I have rent and £150+ to fix my computer.**

I think I am going to write to Dick Smith's and Visual Groups and let them know my displeasure at not fixing my computer. B (the guy who was looking at my computer) recommended that I buy a new one. But having just installed Windows 7, I didn't really want to do that. *shrug*

There is a really cheap farmers market in the nearby town (where I was staying when I first arrived) on a Saturday morning. I went last week, and again this week and bought a ton of fresh fruit. Mmmm.

I think I am going to go and stand by the window some more.

ETA: And I just had to go through and code this entire post, because LJ ate all my paragraph breaks. Don't tell me I'm going to have to switch to Rich Text Editor. *shudder*
**Seriously cool that this laptop has a £ sign on the keyboard. My laptop doesn't do that.

snow, england, winter, homesickness
