Yay weekends!

WORSHIP! You're inner Bombshell is the beautiful
Audrey Hepburn. Like her you've been blessed
with a "certain something" that no
one could describe accurately. You are more
reserved than other bombshells, and that shows
in your gentle, graceful nature. You like doing
things for other people and love volunteering
for your favorite charity. Yours is a rare gift
in this day and age. You don't need to show a
lot of skin to be sexy, all you need is your
eyes. To see Audrey at the top of her game
watch the movie "Breakfast at
Tiffanys".

Who is your inner bombshell?

Weekends are good, especially after weekdays. Convenient how that got arranged, no?

Well, Twink, Yoric and I had a meeting with a mortgage rep at Edina Realty on Thursday. She's running the mortgage of Yoric and my credit, but told me, pretty point-blank, that I need a job. Like, yesterday. She said she didn't care if I was shirt-rder cook at MacDonald's (inevitable break for the short joke from Yoric, "well, she couldn't be the tall-order cook, no could she?")This resulted in me coming home and hitting the computer hard for about five hours. ceilingsarecool very awesomely redid my resume, so I sent that and some cover letters out to about 7 jobs. Since that was Thursday, I don't expect to hear anything until middle next week.

Friday: Willy Wonka with twink, yoric, and sugargerbil. I got a review from Roger Ebert before I went to see it; said Johnny Depp detracted from the film. BS. Those who don't care about WW, hit page down key now. Favorite moments: SPOILERS!

~Boat on chocolate river. I want one, in another color (flavor?)
~Wonka's perfect teeth.
~The half-second tribute to Edward Scissorhands
~The amusing poverty of the Bucket family ("Nothing to add to the soup? Well, nothing goes with cabbage like cabbage.")
~Non-Euclidean geometry of Bucket house (I swear, based on Lovecraft!)
~Grandma Georgina ("I like grapes!" apropos of nothing)
~Oompa Loompa numbers with lyrics directly from the book
~How faithful it was to the book
~Whipped Cream (cow bondage)
~The heart-warming flaming destruction of the puppet song and dance (felt like watching Disney's "It's a Small World" ride go up in flames; brilliant)
~"And this is the Puppet Hospital and burn center. *pause* It's fairly new."
~Pink sheep being sheared for cotton candy ("I'd rather not talk about this room, if you don't mind.")
~Wonka repeatedly running into his glass elevator ("Need to be more careful about where I park this thing...")
~Christopher Lee as Wonka's dad and sadistic dentist; child-Wonka's torturous braces and head-gear
I recommend the movie. See, is amusing. Also, very British.

Saturday: Planned to go to Minnehaha Park Clean-up, was too. f-ing. hot. Mowed lawn at 8am; was already 87 and humid. Went to Waconia instead, to look over basement Twink and Yoric will be moving into (I'll be moving in part-time). Did some measuring, played mental furniture tetrus, got last of random stuff out of the space.

Went home, picked up HP6 from Borders. Read in about 5 hours. Cried, then cursed JK Rowlings and the fact that I have to wait until NOVEMBER for my next HP fix. Oh yeah, HP trailer in front of Willy Wonka.

Today: Parade at Hopkins Razzberry Days. Wore leather bodice and red crinkle-skirt and much jewelry. Look wasn't "times," but I stayed pretty cool. Parade was short, and we got a ride halfway back from the Ace Hardware people. Returned to Box, went for a swim, now here and about to go eat.

Next: Food.

Oh yeah, and I'm thrilled I got Audrey Hepburn because the best compliment I've gotten recently was from Yoric; he called me a "classy lady."
