Yoric's Head
Yoric likes to boast he has a good, thick Irish skull. But he's had 2 falls in the last 2 years that have tested that theory.
Spring of 07, he rear-ended me on a bike ride, and tumbled off his own bike. He was wearing a helmet, which SPLIT, and he had some memory loss. Twink took him to the hospital, where he had a CT scan that was normal.
Tuesday, he slipped in a customer's backyard while carrying his ladder, which landed on his head. He had a sore head, but was otherwise fine.
Last night, he slipped on the icy parking lot behind Gerbil's, and bashed his head but good. He had memory loss again (he forgot where he lived AND where he worked), and after calling Twink to confirm, I ran him over to United Hospital. We did intake and registration fairly quickly, and another CT following, then a lot of waiting about. The CT scan was normal again, but we got a doctor's note, and he's to stay home for a few days.
He's lying down now, voluntarily, and ASKED for pain meds. That's a fairly big deal; he HATES taking pills. I'm hoping he'll nap for a bit.
