Apparently one of my heretofore unknown talents is that I am good at jerry-rigging fake pregnant bellies. No fewer than 3 people at the party told me they thought I was actually pregnant at first, and this was at a party where the people I didn't know maybe numbered 10? 30% sucess rate, woo!
Knocking some more on all available surfaces, it looks like to boy is finally going to escape OHmygodIhateyouIO, and will be getting into Seattle at ten after midnight. Hooray!
My adventures in cooking hit a brief rough patch this week. Gave myself food poision from some baked salmon that was suffering from one or both of the following problems: 1) spent too long in the fridge, 2) not cooked enough. That was fun. Also gave myself a steam burn on two fingertips, which I think is a sign I need to get new potholders. Hurt like a mother, but seems to be mending nicely.
Awesome historical fiction book: Pope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross. Literally could not put it down and read the whole thing in a day and a half. Very well-written, and about a period of history I don't know much about, the Dark Ages.
*EDIT* his damn flight from chicago got delayed by an hour, but hey at least he's out of Ohio. I'm gonna go take a freakin' nap.
