you're cinematic, razor sharp

There is likely only one person on my flist who cares about Snow Patrol anywhere near as much as I do, but I don't care. I am in love. 'Cause man, Snow Patrol. OMFG! SO. FUCKING. AMAZING. I haven't had that much fun at a concert since I don't even know when. We (my friend R and I) were right up front, like ten feet from Gary with his grinning and flailing and floppy hair and long fingered hands. He gets os into it. gah. I mean look at him so. much. love.

They played half new songs, all amazing, and half songs from Final Straw and everybody sang along and there were points when Gary stepped back from the mic, giant grin on his face, and let the crowd sing. gah. It's so fucking awesome to watch someone who's so obviously psyched to be up there playing. Man oh man oh man. I haven't had a crush on a rock star like this since I was in high school.

We were so close to the stage we could read the set list so we dutifully copied it down:
Wow
Chocolate (!)
Beginning To Get To Me
Spitting Games
Hands Open
Headlight on Dark Roads
Grazed Knees
Chasing Cars
Shut Your Eyes
How to Be Dead (! which he fucked up twice and was so cute about it)
Make This Go On Forever (how much do I wish it had. man)
Ways & Means (!)
Run (featuring the crowd singing bits. he looked so happy that so many of us knew all the words)
You're All I Have
---------
Starfighter Pilot (not on the set list but someone requested it os we got an extra song and one of the old ones that they never ever play live too! so fucking awsome)
Open Your Eyes
Tiny Little Fractures (such the perfect ending)

I've been watching the video for You're All I Have over and over and over since I got up this morning since it's the only song from the new album you can get so far (I wish I could figure out how to download it instead of just streaming though). I'm a bit sore, feet and knees and throat, from all the bouncing and screaming and singing along and man, so happy. I can't wait for May 9th when Eyes Open comes out. My only regret in the whole night is that neither one of us thought to bring a digital camera, but. BUT they are coming back here in June, so Gary said. wheeee!

extreme squee, music, snow patrol
