WHOAMG WE WENT SATURDAY, THE ONLY DAY PETER CULLEN WAS THERE
Okay so first we stood in the ticket line for like, 40 minutes to an hour. Then we got inside and immediately checked out the line for Cullen autographs. That was just confusing cuz ... it was confusing. Ellen said she'd stay in line and save a spot for me, so I wandered off to look at everything. There were some rad cosplayers, awesome art contest entries, SO MANY THINGS TO BUY, and... ARTISTS! 8DD8D88DD That's probably what I got most excited about while I was there, seeing the artists from IDW team. I brought some of my comics with me to get signed, and I was pleasantly surprised to see
kloa there, who I saw on the brochure was going to sit in on Friday only for autographs, but I guess she was making a brief visit and I conveniently noticed her. She kindly signed my Blurr comic while I was waiting in line for the penciler to sign it. Flippin AWESOME! All the comics I got signed were all spotlights, probably my favorite ones. 8))) It was so fucking awesome, the artists were doing free sketches! I didn't have the patience to stand around and wait though, so I just got my comics signed and dove back into the sea of junky toys and awesome shit.
Ellen eventually found out that people standing in line for Cullen had to wait for his final signing from 1:30-2:30... AAAAND they had to buy a wristband to be able to even get in to see him, which was 25 bucks. Ellen was bent on getting his autograph, but I wasn't prepared to PAY for a signature, so I said NO to that. 8|; Ellen told me Cyndi had walked by, so I went looking for her and spotted her, and she got a wristband to see Cullen, so that's cool. 8))) It was cool just to meet her face to face, and I'm really glad she was able to make it to the con.
In my wanderings, I got lots of pictures and videos of cosplayers, the Optimus Prime 2007 movie truck, art contest submissions, and even a few shots of Weird Al as he was making his way out of the building. And then I finally decided I had gotten enough pics & vids, so I did a little shopping. I decided to buy a print of Alex Milne's
cover illustration of the Blaster Spotlight comic for $10, then I went wandering around for a bit to kill some time and wait till he got back to his table so I could get it signed. But I eventually realized that I had stupidly set it down somewhere and lost it. ._.; So I went to the ATM across the street and got another $20 cash and went back...... but I decided to save my money for something else since I see his art often enough in the comics or on deviantart, and he had already signed my
Arcee Spotlight comic for me. Soooooo I poked around a bit and settled for buying volume 2 of IDW's Classic Transformers... which is like, 15 issues for $20. Towards the end of the visit, I noticed a booth where some old posters and prints were being sold for really cheap, like $5 each. I didn't have 5 bucks on me, though, and I wasn't willing to go back to the ATM. But then the guy said that there was a poster of Starscream for sale for just 1 dollar, and I saw it was a Dreamwave print, so
I got it. There's some water damage on it, and it was pretty warped, so I tried smoothing it out as best as I could... it's not in the greatest shape, but I love it. 8))))
AND THEN
batchix was sooooo sweet, she bought me a G1 Wheeljack toy! He's missing his wingalings, shoulder missiles, and his head, BUT HE'S STILL FUCKING AWESOME! I'm gonna have fun making lots of funny different little heads for him. XD And THEEEEN Ellen managed to get a bunch of sweet prints for a great price, so she gave me one of Alternators Hound~! And now when I look at the print, I reeeeeeeally want the toy lol.
All in all, I had a great time. Only thing I missed out on was Peter Cullen, which was my main drive to go, buuuuuut oh well. I'm glad I got my comics signed. 8)
