Explorers, that's what they were right? So, after arriving in this strange place, that's exactly what Sulu decided to go do. Explore. Most people seemed to ignore him, which was starting to get old by now. They would glance his way, then turn around as if he didn't exist. Wonderful.

It was all fairly normal, at least as normal as this place got, when he heard a familiar voice and a certain familiar language. Looking up, he saw a yellow shirt across the street, just outside the library. He blinked, then waved before jogging over (making sure there were no vehicles coming, of course). "Chekov!"

Chekov was really beginning to feel the strain of all of this. The Enterprise missing the bulk of her alpha shift, Lt. Uhura was not a pleasant woman when she seemed to think those remaining had somehow made her lose her boyfriend. She was a scary woman indeed. Yet, there hadn't been anything that they could have done. He'd checked all the numbers himself. There shouldn't have been a problem, yet, they were all gone, maybe even dead.

It hadn't been easy to wrap their head around...but when people disappeared from transporting like that...they didn't come back. Chekov was certain he was dreaming when he saw Sulu running across the street. Had he ever dreamed of them? Many times. Yes. He hadn't actually woke up yet. Still, he couldn't help but feel relieved, excited even, his accent sounding thicker than usual, even to himself. "Lieutenant!"

Once there, he looked Chekov over carefully, making sure he was who he said he was. This place was strange and he didn't want to take any chances. Clapping him on his shoulder, he grinned. "Glad to see a familiar face. I was starting to think that the Captain and I were the only ones here."

"Ze Captain is here?!" Chekov could barely contain his excitement at this. Finally...they searched and nothing and...well...he hadn't even been looking when he got here. He bounced in place slightly, a bundle of nervous and excited energy before he just pushed forward, throwing his arms around the older male. "I missed you! I did not know... We thought ze three of you had died!"

Sulu blinked, then patted the younger male awkwardly on the back. "It's okay now, Ensign. We're okay...at least I am. The captain went off somewhere so I was just exploring this place a bit until he returned." So, Spock was still missing but chances were he was here somewhere if Sulu and Kirk were there. At least, Sulu hoped.

"I am w--very happy, Sir." The name didn't even register at first, too caught up in feeling the older man against him, perfectly solid and so so real. If this was a dream, it seemed rather beautiful at the moment. "It is good you are alive. Ze Federation gave up hope, but I did not. I knew you would be alive." He nodded, taking a moment to pull back just enough to get a good look at him before lifting his hands to press his palms to his cheeks, eyes alight with the excitement and relief he was feeling. "Ты такой красивый." Then, it faded, just a little. "So...zis is real?"

".....why would the Federation give up hope. We've only been gone..." Sulu checked his chronometer. "Two hours." Things were getting stranger and stranger by the minute. Chekov was acting like he hadn't seen them in...he didn't know how long. He certainly shouldn't be acting like this with the amount of time the away team had been away. Unless something had happened to change things? "Did something happen to the Entertprise?"

Chekov stared at him for about six long seconds before he blinked, looking down when Sulu did then back up, blue eyes wide. Two hours? This had to be a dream. There was no way. Then again...if a mining ship could travel back in time a hundred years or so, why couldn't he travel a smaller distance? But that was just crazy. "No, no, Sir. Ze ship is fine." He shook his head before pausing, hesitating only a second before nodding. "Everything is fine! But...you have been gone for two months, Sir." More hesitation. "We had no idea where you went... Admiral Acher said you went like his beagle. We had to move on under strict orders. We searched for weeks for you on ze planet." He nodded, as if it needed to be confirmed.

Rubbing his face with both of his hands, Sulu blinked and stared at Chekov as if he'd grown another head. Two months? How was this possible? It wasn't, that was the problem. It wasn't like they'd teleported through a black hole or something.

Had they? Ugh, his head hurt. "Well, we'll figure something out."

The look he was getting sort of supported the fact that this was real, as far as he was concerned. That was nuts, though. The Lieutenant's reaction was totally rational. That was it. If this was a dream, he'd be smiling and saying it didn't matter cause they were together now! ...Or you know, something like that. "Ze Enterprise needs you... I do not want to be Keptan anymore. I like Chief Navigator. You can deal with Lieutenant Uhura. She is... intense woman." He nodded, pressing his lips together in a thin line. "We will get back! As soon as I figure out how I got here..." He turned a little, looking back to the library and the people in strange outfits.

"We will. But first, we have to find the captain and Mr. Spock, if he's here. And then we need to find out how and why we were sent here." Sulu felt sorry for the kid. No one should have to deal with Uhura alone. Especially when Spock was concerned.

Chekov looked back at him before giving a firm nod, expression suddenly bright as it had been that first week they disappeared. Everyone had been so hopeful and determined then, the bridge was constantly humming with the alpha crew taking double shifts just to be sure nothing went unnoticed by less than capable hands and ears and eyes. "Yes. Where did you leave him?"

"We decided to split up to cover more ground that way." Sulu pulled out his communicator and tried to reach Kirk, to no avail. "Well...damn. This isn't good." Nope, not good at all. What the hell?!

Chekov stared for a moment before leaning a little to look around him, at the few random people walking around. "Ze away team shouldn't split up! Bad things happen when you split up! We learned this ten missions ago!"

This actually made him laugh. He grinned, clapping Chekov on the shoulder. "But necessary sometimes. Regardless, I'm glad you're here."

The laugh caught him a bit off guard. The conversation had been serious, or pretty serious, but he fell into an easy sort of smile, swaying just slightly from the hit. "I am glad, too." He nodded, making his hands into fists. "Let's find ze Keptan."
