history:
Here personality: Victor is a generally friendly and easy to get along with guy. When he got to Xavier’s for the first time, he managed to make friends within every group from the ‘outcasts’ to the popular crowd. He likes to keep active, almost always up to head out with friends for a game of basketball or to toss a Frisbee around. He does his best to try to keep conflicts from breaking out, even among his friends and is quick to try to settle any arguments. He often serves as the voice of reason in a group. Victor is very protective of his friends, willing to sacrifice himself to save them, leaping headfirst into danger. He’s a very responsible and trustworthy young man, knowing how to keep a secret and making sure to take care of any tasks given to the best of his ability. He’s very loyal, sticking to friends through thick and thin. Victor also tends to be a more reasonable teen, thinking things through and considering as many angles as he can before doing something. He also made a point to read all the X-men’s files and study it, boosting his fanboy info with knowledge of X-men history and the various villains and heroes of the world. He’s become a big fan of fellow teen heroes the Young Avengers and often voices that he wants to join them. He’s got a sense of humor, enjoying banter and jokes with people even during training and fights. His humor tends to be more sarcastic and snarky but he doesn’t make fun of others.
He’s very comfortable with himself, proud of being and mutant and not hiding the fact that he’s gay. He’s not flamboyant or shouting from rooftops but he’s not going to deny it. The only exception is his regeneration power. He doesn’t like it and he’s very against losing any more limbs and having them replaced by the more mutated ones. He’s actually afraid he’ll lose himself if he loses more limbs. While he’s generally nice and respectful, Victor tends to hold grudges and is especially bitter about being hurt by the X-men. He grew up worshiping them as heroes and the fact that they figuratively threw his class under a bus and then just abandoned them stings badly. Despite his tendency to hold grudges, Victor knows when its time to put them aside and work together with people. He’s also open to the possibility of forgiveness and does look for the best in people.
abilities/powers: Reptilian Mutation: The most obvious thing about Victor’s mutation is that he’s green. He’s got a spiked carapace on his head instead of hair and slightly pointed ears. This lizard-like body gives him a few abilities.
-Enhanced Agility, Dexterity, Stamina, Flexibility, and Reflexes: Victor’s mutation makes him far more agile and flexible than a normal person. He can move faster and react quicker than normal humans and exert himself at peak form for hours before getting tired.
-Wallcrawling: Like a lizard, Victor is able to cling to and climb on any solid surface such as ceilings and walls.
-Extendable Prehensile Tongue: Victor has a tongue that’s longer than the length of his body that he’s able to expel from is mouth quite fast and hard. It’s prehensile and he can even use it to support his own weight and one other light person if he has to. He can choose whether or not to make the tip adhesive but often doesn’t.
-Spikes and Claws: The spikes on Victor’s larger arm are strong and sharp enough to rend concrete and damage steel. The spikes on his arm are also tough enough to do the same and provide a bit of protection.
Camouflage: Victor has the ability to change the color and appearance of his skin and the clothes he’s wearing to blend in with his surroundings. This also hides his scent. While motionless he’s invisible to the visible spectrum. While moving while camouflaged, he tends to look like distorted air in a vague humanoid shape.
Regeneration: He’s not on par with Wolverine but Victor heals much faster than normal people. He recovered from an arrow-wound to the abdomen in a few hours. And whenever he loses a limb, a new one will grow back larger and spikier.
-Enhanced Strength: And new limb that grows back after Victor has lost it will regrow stronger than his others. His regrown arm is strong enough to damage steal plate armor, break stones, and rend flesh pretty easily.
first person sample:
[The video doesn’t seem to be showing anything at first. If one looks closely, they might see the very faint outline of a person on screen. Rather suddenly, a young man bleeds into sight. And he’s all green. He’s trying not to show it but he’s a bit scared.]
I’m pretty sure this isn’t Limbo. I haven’t been swarmed by demons yet and it’s not hot enough for Limbo. Pretty sure its not MojoWorld either. Doesn’t really fit his MO from what I read in the files. Can’t think of any other places right now…
[He pauses to rub the back of his neck with his free hand.]
My name is V- [He pauses] I’m Anole and I’m one of the X-men. Close enough anyway…
Are there any other X-men in the area and can anyone tell me where this is?
[He shivers enough that its easy to see.]
And where can I find some pants? Actually, could someone answer that one first? And hopefully other clothes to go with the pants? Its way too cold here. Not even winters in Fairbury were this bad.
third person sample:
Victor liked to get up early. Not as early as Santo tended to try waking him up, but early enough that there weren’t a lot of others awake. He could get showered, grab some coffee, and head out for his morning run without incident most days. Occasionally he’d run into Wolverine or one of the other early risers but Victor liked his hour or so of time to himself. It gave him time to think and just enjoy Utopia.
One of his favorite spots wasn’t too far from the ‘students’ quarters but out of the way enough that people wouldn’t be stumbling across him unless they flew, swam, or climbed like he could. Its where he this morning after his run. Sitting on a rock that overlooked the ocean, Victor had a great view of San Francisco. He had to admit that he liked the city. The fact that the X-men had relocated there had been the deciding factor that convinced him to rejoin them. It was a place he’d always wanted to see and he felt he could open up and be himself a lot more easily than he could back in New York or Fairbury.
Being around the X-men again made him a little wary though. Since returning to their ranks he’d been sent to Limbo again, saved the city from an alien invasion, fought a super powered gang, been caught in riot, almost got eaten by a living island, and was shot in the stomach by a psychopath. It wasn’t enough to scare him off again though. Not even Nick’s death had done it. All of it just convinced Victor that he had to be there to help his friends. And not just his friends. Rescues during the Skrull invasion and helping to get innocents away from the riots had given Victor a sense of what he imagined actual superheroes felt like. Like he was making a difference and using his powers responsibly. Its what he always wanted growing up. To be an X-Man and help people.
He was startled out his thoughts by the sound of Indra calling his name. Looking over his shoulder, Victor blinked a few times and started to climb down off his perch.
“Over this way, Paras. I’ll be there in a minute!” he called. A quick check of his watch and Victor nodded. Training was soon and Vic was looking forward to getting some time in at the Danger Room.
